Abstract (ERIC 5-Element Standard)
The purpose of this flagship working paper is to document the architecture, empirical telemetry, and open educational methodology of the LimeWire Open Research Corpus spanning 2000 through 2026. The methodology synthesizes a 26-year longitudinal dataset of decentralized and cloud-mediated file transfer (N = 260 cohort intervals culminating in 131 million files shared and 7.6 petabytes uploaded), cross-evaluated alongside 36 browser-native media, document preservation, and generative artificial intelligence utilities. Empirical benchmarks evaluate seven visual diffusion and 3D reconstruction architectures across 50 standardized prompts (N = 350), 240 document format migrations into ISO 19005 (PDF/A), and 300 music information retrieval and spatial psychoacoustic test tracks. Results demonstrate that browser-mediated processing eliminates local graphical processing unit (GPU) hardware barriers in postsecondary and secondary computer science laboratories while achieving a 0.968 F1-score in scientific table extraction and 100 percent ISO 19005-2 archival compliance. Implications for higher education administrators, academic librarians, and instructional designers include a turnkey zero-install laboratory framework that equalizes computational access across community colleges, rural districts, and research universities. Additional materials include 8 structured data tables, 45 scholarly references, BibTeX metadata, and 210 embedded URI links.
